Rick Perry Slams Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich in New Iowa Ad

Gov. Rick Perry of Texas is taking aim at two of his rivals for the Republican presidential nomination -- former Gov. Mitt Romney of Massachusetts and former U.S. House Speaker Newt Gingrich -- in a new television ad hitting Iowa.

"Iowa Republicans have a crucial decision. Which street will we choose?" the announcer asks in the ad. "Mitt Romney: Wall Street. He made millions buying companies and laying off workers. Newt Gingrich: K Street, the lobbyist hangout in Washington. Newt got rich, made millions off of Freddie Mac. Or Rick Perry: Main Street. The outsider who sparked the creation of a million new jobs. He'll overhaul Washington and toss out the corrupt insiders. The choice is clear."

"Governor Perry is the only true Washington outsider left in this race," said Ray Sullivan, Perrys communications director, on Tuesday. "He has never served in Washington or been an establishment favorite, and he is the only candidate in the race with a plan to overhaul Washington, D.C., by creating a part-time Congress, balancing the budget by 2020, reining in out-of-control government spending and cutting the federal tax rate to a simple and flat 20 percent. While the nation lost more than 2 million jobs, Texas created more than 1 million net new jobs during Perry's tenure."
