Rick Perry and Mitt Romney Clash Heats Up on Immigration and Stimulus

The infighting between the two leading candidates for the Republican presidential nomination -- Gov. Rick Perry of Texas and former Gov. Mitt Romney of Massachusetts -- continued this week as the two sides kept up their attacks on each other.

The Perry team released the latest in a series of Web videos on Wednesday, attacking Romney for shifting positions on backing the federal stimulus enacted by President Barack Obama.

Governor Romney and President Obama were both wrong about the stimulus it didnt work to create jobs, said Mark Miner, a spokesman for Perry. Governor Romney is Obama-lite supporting the stimulus, government-mandated health care, and federal intervention into schools but when his liberal positions are discovered, he flips with ease.

Appearing on the Jordan Sekulow radio show on Tuesday, Romney fired back at Perrys support for giving illegal aliens in-state tuition in Texas.

I love legal immigration, said Romney. "Im happy to help legal immigrants, but illegal immigrants coming here getting a break a $100,000 break on college tuition financed by taxpayers -- makes no sense.
