Richter, Flores, Abruzzo on Public Service Commission's Nominating Committee

Senate President Don Gaetz, R-Niceville, has appointed Sens. Garret Richter, R-Naples, Anitere Flores, R-Miami, and Joseph Abruzzo, D-Wellington, to the Nominating Committee of the Florida Public Service Commission.

The release from the presidents office:

Richter, 62, is the president and founder of First National Bank of the Gulf Coast. He currently serves as state senator for District 23 which consists of parts of Collier and Lee counties. Sen. Richter also serves as the president pro tempore of the Florida Senate. Having previously served on the committee as chairman from 2010 to present, Richter has been reappointed as a member for a term beginning immediately and ending Nov. 4, 2014.

Flores, 36, is the director of community partnerships at Florida International University. She currently serves as state senator for Florida District 37 which consists of part of Miami-Dade County. Flores has been appointed for a term beginning immediately and ending Nov. 4, 2014. Additionally, she has been appointed as vice chair of the committee during 2013.

Abruzzo, 32, is a businessman and United States Coast Guard port security specialist. He currently serves as state senator for Florida District 25 which consists of part of Palm Beach County. Abruzzo has been appointed for a term beginning immediately and ending Nov. 4, 2014.
