Republican Candidate Bashes Debbie Wasserman Schultz on Campaign Finance

Restaurant owner Karen Harrington was the Republican nominee who challenged South Florida Democrat U.S. Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz in 2010 and is hoping for a rematch in 2012. Harrington has been on the attack in recent months and slammed Wasserman Schultz, who is chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee, on campaign finance reform in a statement releasedTuesday.

Just like Debbie Wasserman Schultzs one-sided call for a return to civility in political discourse, Debbie has no credibility on the issue of campaign finance reform, said Harrington. Everyday Americans, from all walks of life, understand that if you intend to speak with authority and credibility on any issue, you have to put your money where you mouth is. Since Debbie Wasserman Schultz has no interest in a frank discussion about what genuine campaign finance reform would actually entail, she will never be able to convince anyone outside of the most rabid partisan supporters about her seriousness on the issue.
