Rep. Tom Rooney to Unveil 'Restore America Act' for Jobs

U.S. Rep. Tom Rooney will unveil his jobs plan on the Treasure Coast Tuesday.

The "Restore America Act," so named by a Facebook competition hosted by the Tequesta Republican, "will help create an environment where the private sector can grow and hire new workers," a statement from the congressman said.

The bill reportedly will include business tax reform, the elimination of selected federal regulations and initiatives for increased American energy production.

This bill is the result of months of listening to my constituents and hearing about the challenges local businesses face as they try to grow and create good jobs, said Rooney.

At 9 a.m. Tuesday at the Martin County Business Development Board in Stuart, Rooney will host a panel of local job creators to present his new plan and to receive their feedback.

Costly mandates, an unfair tax code and high energy costs are making it increasingly difficult for our businesses to compete in the global economy and create good jobs for American workers. Im looking forward to meeting with some of the job creators in my district to listen to their ideas, hear about the impediments to business growth that theyre facing, and discuss my new jobs bill with them.
