Rep. Katie Edwards Debunks Myth That Nan Rich Support Is Rick Scott Support
Rep. Katie Edwards summed it up for thousands of Democrats Saturday when she told Anthony Man of the Sun-Sentinel, any idea that supporting Nan Rich is helping the re-election of Republican Rick Scott is "nonsense."
Edwards, a Plantation Democrat elected to the House in 2012, was attending the opening of Rich's campaign office in Weston when she made her point clear.
I am proud to stand with Nan and to send a message, to send a message that those of us who support Nan have by no means sold our souls to the other side, or are working on the re-election of Rick Scott."
She told reporter Man, "I call upon all of you to debunk that myth coming out of Tallahassee."
In the interview reported in Monday's newspaper, she said one reason major Democratic donors have written Rich off is "that kind of commentary" from the Crist camp. I think its the bullying and the retaliation, she said.
I find it very offensive for these folks for trying to [paint us as] anything but principled Democrats.
