Redistricting Hearings Added to Start of Committee Week

The calendar for next weeks state legislative committee meetings continues to evolve.

A number of legislative and congressional redistricting meetings have been added to Mondays schedule.

Earlier this week, the Senate Select Committee on Protecting Floridas Children had been moved to Monday, Sept. 19. The meeting is expected to get all sorts of attention because of the efforts by legislators to create a "Caylee's law" in response to public anger over a jury rendering a not-guilty verdict against the dead girl's mother.

On Thursday, four redistricting committee and subcommittee meetings were posted for Monday, Sept. 19.

According to a release from the state House, committee members "will begin reviewing the public input received at recent redistricting meetings held in 26 communities across Florida."
