Rebecca Negron Reels in Conservative Support for Congressional Run

On Thursday, conservative PAC Maggie’s List endorsed Martin County School Board Member Rebecca Negron in the race to replace U.S. Rep. Patrick Murphy, D-Fla., in Congress. Murphy is running for the U.S. Senate in 2016.

“Maggie's List is proud to endorse Rebecca Negron, a true conservative who has public and private sector experience,” said former Florida Sec. of State Sandra Mortham, the chairwoman of Maggie’s List. “She has the tools to make a difference in Congress having been both an elected official and working as an obstetrical nurse.  She will hit the ground running having had both education and health care real world experiences.

“Negron embraces the core values of Maggie’s list, fiscal conservatism, less government, more personal responsibility and strong national security,” Mortham added.

“I am humbled to have the support of Maggie’s List as the campaign trail begins,” Negron said. “As a long-time resident of Martin County, I understand what issues matter to our community, including education, economic and workforce growth, and helping families keep more of their hard-earned dollars to save and spend as they please – not how the federal government sees fit. The federal government has grown too big and spends too much.  It’s time to make Washington balance the budget, reduce the debt and start treating taxpayers with respect. I look forward to having the opportunity to serve the Treasure Coast in Washington where I will fight for the conservative policies we need to get our country back on track.”

Maggie's List defines itself as a “federal PAC created to raise awareness and funds to increase the number of conservative women elected to federal public office.”
