PPP Poll: Sink Leads Scott by 1; Rubio Destroying Crist and Meek

Public Policy Polling released its final look at the races in Florida -- and confirmed what two earlier polls released on Monday showed, including one from Sunshine State News:a tight gubernatorial race and Republican candidate Marco Rubio headed to the U.S. Senate.

The PPP poll found Democratic candidate state CFO Alex Sink was ahead of Republican Rick Scott by the slimmest of margins. Sink took 48 percent in the poll with Scott right behind her at 47 percent. The poll found that Attorney General Bill McCollum, whom Scott defeated in the primary, would have trailed Sink by the same margin -- with the Democrat leading the hypothetical matchup 46 percent to 45 percent.

Rubio took 47 percent in the U.S. Senate race -- far ahead of Gov. Charlie Crist who placed second with 30 percent and Democratic candidate U.S. Rep. Kendrick Meek who placed third with 21 percent.

The poll of 773 likely voters was taken on Oct. 30-31 and had a margin of error of +/- 3.5 percent.
