Poor Newtie: No One Wants to Come Out and Debate

What if you hosted a presidential debate and no one came?

CNN announced it today: it will cancel its presidential debate that was set to take place in Atlanta.

Mitt Romney, Ron Paul and Rick Santorum indicated they had no appetite to travel to Georgia for yet another Republican presidential primary debate on March 1, ahead of Super Tuesday.

Not surprisingly, the news was not well-received by the Gingrich camp, whose candidate relies on strong debate performances and the roar of a crowd.

If they wont do their job as a candidate, how can we expect them to do their job as president? said Gingrich spokesman R.C. Hammond, according to the Wall Street Journal.

It seems Club Gingrich may have overlooked next week's debate.CNN said the network still plans to host a debate on Wednesday with the Arizona Republican Party. All four qualifying candidates are scheduled to share that stage on Feb. 22 in Mesa, with voters in Arizona and Michigan heading to the polls the following Tuesday, Feb. 28.

After 20 GOP primary debates, some voters have reported fatigue. But, we know one voter who might lament the chance to see her man.
