Poll finds Obama's Birthplace Still a Sizeable Issue With Americans

It looks like the issue of President Barack Obamas birth certificate is not going away any time soon. CNN released a poll that found that 16 percent of all Americans think Obama was probably born in another country and 11 percentthink he definitely was. According to the poll, more than a quarter of Americans think there is a very strong possibility that Obama is constitutionally ineligible to serve as president.

There is a tendency to simply write the birthers off as a fringe group. But if this poll is correct, whatever the merits of their opinions on where Obama was born, that label no longer can hold. More than a quarter of Americans cannot be blown off as a fringe group.
