Plan to Reorganize DOH Still Needs a Senate Sponsor
Rep. Matt Hudson, R-Naples, has a proposal in the House to reorganize the state Department of Health that passsed theHouse Health Care Regulation Policy Committee on Monday.
This afternoon, when asked if he had found a sponsor for his measure in the Senate, Hudson said that he had a few things in the works but did not single out a senator who was planning on introducing the measure.
Sen. Durell Peaden, R-Crestview, chairman of the Senates Health and Human Services Appropriations Committee, has expressed opposition to Hudson's measure. Peaden has said that Hudson's bill, which emerged last Thursday, has come too late in the session for him to act on it.
Crist addressed questions onHudson's legislation during a news conference this afternoon. It is way too early to opine on it, Crist said.
