Pennsylvania Names Frank Brogan University Chancellor
Former Florida lieutenant governor and university executive Frank Brogan is packing his bags and heading to Pennsylvania, where he's been called as the new chancellor of the State System of Higher Education. Brogan was chosen Wednesday over two other finalists after a secret search process. Brogan washired by a 15-0 vote on Wednesday by the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Educations Board of Governors.
Brogan will be the fourth chancellor to lead Pennsylvania's public university system, which is the 13th largest in the country, enrolling about 115,000 students.
Brogan's new position is the highest-paid job in state government. The previous chancellor, John Cavanaugh, was earning $327,500 when he stepped down from the position in February.
Brogan's departure from his job aschancellor of the State University System of Florida means that the top two education positions in Florida are now vacant. A replacement for Brogan has not yet been determined.
