PBA Backs Adam Putnam for Agriculture Commissioner

The Florida Police Benevolent Association (PBA) is backing U.S. Rep. Adam Putnam, the Republican candidate, to be the states next commissioner of agriculture and consumer services. The PBA has more than 36,000 members across the state.

The Florida Police Benevolent Association is proud to endorse Adam Putnam for commissioner of agriculture, said PBA President John Rivera. Adam has the real-life experience, knowledge and commitment to serve us well as commissioner and as a member of the Florida Cabinet.

It is an honor to have the support of the Police Benevolent Association, which represents men and women who put their lives on the line each day to keep our families safe, said Putnam. I look forward to working with them throughout our campaign and while serving as commissioner of agriculture.

The front-runner for the Democratic nod in the race, former Tallahassee Mayor Scott Maddox, is the son of former PBA President Charlie Maddox who was removed from his position in 1994. When Scott Maddox made a brief run for governor in 2005, the Maddox-PBA feud reignited.
