Parents, Teachers, Students to Rally in Tally for School Choice, Parent Empowerment
The fourth annual School Choice Day is coming to the Florida Capitol.
The Florida Alliance for Choices in Education and the Florida Coalition for Public School Options Friday announced the all day event for teachers, parents and students to join together in Tallahassee in support of parental school choice for their children.
The 12:30 p.m. event on Wednesday, April 3, will be held at Waller Park, located behind the new capitol. Joining the event will be Florida Gov. Rick Scott, Education Commissioner Tony Bennett, state Sens. John Legg, Aaron Bean, Kelli Stargel and Anitere Flores, as well as state Reps. Janet Adkins and Bruce Antone.
Schools participating in the event will range from areas as diverse as Jacksonville, Miami, Orlando, Tampa, Port Richey and Haines City.
FACE provides a forum for school choice and parental empowerment organizations to discuss how best to expand and strengthen school choice so all Florida families have access to the schooling options that best meet their needs.
FCPSO is a chapter of PublicSchoolOptions.org, an alliance of parents that supports and defends parents' rights to access the best public school options for their children. The coalition supports the creation of public-school options, including charter schools, online schools, magnet schools, open enrollment policies and other innovative education programs.
