Pam Geller Blasts Muslims and Media 'Knaves' at Tea Party Convention
Anti-Islam activist Pamela Geller took on radical Muslims and the mainstream media during a fiery speech at a tea party convention in Daytona Beach over the weekend.
As expected, she assailed the Council on American-Islamic Relations for its alleged ties to the terrorist organization Hamas.
Then Geller extended her critique to the mainstream media, asserting that reporters are "taking their talking points and their cues from the Muslim Brotherhood, pimping their anti-American hate and spinning it into 'news coverage.'"
"The uber-left mainstream media and their Islamic overlords are on a mission to destroy the tea party. That's the objective," she declared in a posting at her website, atlasshrugs.com, on Sunday. She asserted that "CAIR originated the line that Florida politicians were avoiding the Tea Party Convention because I was speaking, and the subjugated knaves in the mainstream media eagerly picked up on it."
She pointed to eight separate articles from assorted media outlets -- all of which were headlined with variations of these words: "Politicians snub tea party convention."
Instead of reporting on the content of the convention and its attendees, the articles focused on who didn't appear, Geller noted.
"The mainstream media's myopic meme is culled from the Hamas-linked CAIR press release deriding the event and creating Islamic supremacist lies out of whole cloth," she charged.
A CAIR representative had been invited to speak at the gathering, but that invitation was rescinded amid preconvention verbal jockeying, including a threat by Geller to be a no-show herself.
CAIR Florida helped to stir the pot in advance by thanking U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio and Gov. Rick Scott "for declining to speak" at the convention.
