Pam Bondi Sends Senate's Second Redistricting Effort to Supreme Court

The Florida Senates second attempt to redraw its political boundary lines has been sent to the state Supreme Court.

Attorney General Pam Bondis office announced Thursday that the redistricting map has been sent to the court to determine its validity.

The court will now have 30 days to approve or reject the map based upon the voter-approved Fair Districts amendments. If the map is rejected, the court would have 60 days to draw its own map to set district lines for state senators.

The court rejected the Senates first map on March 9, requiring a special session to revise the effort.
