Pam Bondi Makes the Cover of Conservative Magazine
Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi made the cover of the latest Weekly Standard. Conservative writer Fred Barnes profiled Bondi and other Republican state attorneys general in The Last Redoubt which praises them as the unsung heroes in challenging the Obama agenda.
Barnes divides the Republican attorneys general into two groups -- the inner core and the outer core. Barnes places Bondi in the inner core and gives her high marks for continuing the fight launched by Bill McCollum against the federal health care law and for urging Gov. Rick Scott to stand against the Medicaid expansion mandated by that law.
Looking back at the battle for the Republican attorney general nomination in 2010, Barnes gives credit to former Gov. Sarah Palin of Alaska for helping Bondi win the fight.
Bondi ran into trouble in the GOP primary, Barnes writes. Twice divorced and now engaged, she came under attack for her lifestyle. Sarah Palin came to her rescue.
Palins intervention was crucial, Barnes continues. She did robocalls in the closing days of the campaign. Bondi won narrowly.
