Pam Bondi Backs John Legg in GOP State Senate Primary
House Speaker Pro Tempore John Legg, R-Port Richey, continues to gain the support of the Republican leadership for his bid for a seat in the Florida Senate. On Thursday, state Attorney General Pam Bondi announced that she was backing Legg over former Rep. Rob Wallace and security consultant John Korscak in the Republican primary on Aug. 14.
During his service as an elected official, John has been an effective leader and successful advocate for issues of great importance to the Tampa Bay area and our state, including his integral efforts to help create and pass much-needed reforms to combat the prescription drug abuse epidemic in Florida, Bondi said on Thursday. John is a respected conservative leader with genuine commitment to our state and community, and I am pleased to endorse him for Senate District 17.
It is an honor to receive Pam Bondis support for my Senate campaign, said Legg. She is a valued leader in our state and has taken bold steps to protect our residents. I look forward to the opportunity to continue to work with her, as we must continue to push back against the overreach of the federal government and improve the day-to-day lives of every Floridian.
