Pam Bondi Announces Six More States Have Joined Health Care Challenge

While all eyes are on Washington as congressional Republicans begin their push to repeal federal health-care laws backed by President Barack Obama, Attorney General Pam Bondi, continuing the constitutional challenge to these laws launched by then-Attorney General Bill McCollum last year, announced six more states are looking to join as plaintiffs.

With Iowa, Kansas, Maine, Ohio, Wisconsin and Wyoming joining Florida and 19 other states in the Sunshine States challenge, as well as separate suits brought up by Virginia and Oklahoma, Bondi noted that it was important that a majority of the states are challenging the laws.

It sends a strong message that more than half of the states consider the health-care law unconstitutional and are willing to fight it in court, said Bondi. I look forward to continuing to defend Florida's families and businesses against this unconstitutional law and upholding the Constitution.
