Palm Beach Voting on $4.79 Million State-County Package for Pratt

Palm Beach County commissioners are expected to vote Tuesday on pairing a $1.4 million incentives package with $3 million from Gov. Rick Scotts discretionary deal-closing fund in order to keep 1,000 Pratt & Whitney jobs and create another 200, the Sun-Sentinel is reporting.

The Connecticut-based United Technologies Corp. announced plans to sell its Rocketdyne unit to GenCorporation Inc. on Monday. The Rocketdyne aerospace division accounts for about half of Pratts 1,000 Palm Beach County employees.

The Palm Beach County package includes $1 million in tax abatements. The state would also include $390,000 in job-creation incentives in addition to the governors funding.
