Palm Beach Moves to Slow Growth of Internet Cafes

Palm Beach County isnt waiting for legislators to act and taking action to slow the proliferation of Internet cafes into their own hands.

County commissions have voted to stop issuing business tax receipts for the arcades in unincorporated areas while a one-year moratorium is put in place, the Palm Beach Post reported.

Commissioners agreed to consider the moratorium last month. Commissioner Karen Marcus, who pushed for the temporary ban, said the industry has gone unregulated across the state, the Post reported.
