Out of Office a Few Hours, Charlie Crist Talks Politics on CNN
Charlie Crist has only been out of the governors mansion for a few hours -- and he shows no signs of going away. Crist appeared on Tuesday afternoon on The Situation Room hosted by Wolf Blitzer on CNN.
Crist expressed no remorse over leaving the Republican Party to run with no party affiliation in the U.S. Senate race, despite losing the race.
When asked what party he was currently in, Crist stressed that he remained outside the parties. Im a very happy independent, said Crist.
Noting that he had not been offered a job by the Obama administration, Crist said he was heading to the private sector as an attorney and guest lecturer at Stetson University School of Law in St. Petersburg.
Crist praised Gov. Rick Scotts laser focus on the economy and said that former Gov. Jeb Bush would make a viable Republican presidential candidate in 2012 if he chooses to run. Asked if there were any viable independent presidential candidates in 2012, Crist singled out New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, adding that California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger would be a great option if he had been born in the United States.
