The home of Mickey Mouse and Spider-man attracted more tourists than anywhere else in the nation last year -- despite Central Florida's 4.7 percent decrease in tourism.
Orlando, home of Walt DIsney World, Universal Studios and virtually no end of whimsical lands, attratcted 46.6 million visitors in 2009, reports tourism statistics company D.K. Shifflet & Associates.
Despite a bad economy that would have scared off families as wealthy as Scrooge McDuck from taking a vacation, Central Florida performed better than expected. It was expected to have a 9.9 percent decrease in tourism last year.
