Online Travel Agency Webjet.com Hoping to Grow New Tampa Office

Hoping to capitalize on increased confidence in the economy and a pool of labor in a critical location, international online travel agency Webjet.com is expandinga new Tampa marketing office that will create as many as 25 jobs by the end of the year.

The Australia-based group's first U.S. branch, which opened earlier this year, will house the online company's marketing and customer service office .

"Among a short-list of other metropolitan areas in the United States, we chose Tampa because of the combination of an exceptionally low cost of living, a fantastic labor pool of experienced travel agents and call center staff, andthe great opportunity this city provides to start and grow a business," said Webjet CEO Mathias Freiss, in a press release. By creating job opportunities and putting Tampa back on the map for travel-industry operations, we hope to contribute to the local economy and to provide an enjoyable environment and a healthy work/life balance for employees in a very desirable city.
