Old Mike Huckabee Hand Joins Rick Santorum's 2012 Campaign
Former U.S. Sen. Rick Santorum of Pennsylvania has not exactly been gaining traction in his bid for the Republican presidential nomination, but a prominent new hire could help turn things around. On Monday, BrabenderCox announced that Hogan Gidley was joining up as a senior communications adviser and he would be handling communications and press for the former senators presidential campaign.
If the name sounds familiar, Gidley had served as executive director for the Republican Party of South Carolina, the state that holds the first primary in the South. He also was a key part of former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabees presidential campaign back in 2008, helping propel that conservative dark horse into one of the leading contenders for the Republican nomination.
"We believe Hogan is a unique talent, combining remarkable political instincts with over a decade of experience on both the statewide and national stage, said John Brabender of BrabenderCox. Hogan will service many BrabenderCox clients -- and most notably, we have immediately assigned Hogan to head up the communications and press efforts for our client, the 'Santorum for President' campaign.
"We are absolutely thrilled to have someone with Hogan's reputation joining our campaign effort, and I look forward to having him play a critical role on our strategic and communications team," said Santorum.
