Occupy Organizing for Legislative Session
A collection of the Occupy Wall Street-inspired groups from across Florida is reportedly going to meet up next month to plan a march on the Capitol for the first day of the 2012 session.
Calling the gathering The Peoples Convention of Florida, An Occupy Florida Event, members of 14 different Occupy outfits from across the state will convene" the weekend of Dec. 9 in Orlando to draft a Peoples Plan that will be delivered to state House Speaker Dean Cannon on a Jan. 10, 2012, march, according to the website Peoplesconventionoffflorida.org.
A majority of local Florida Occupations have agreed by consensus to support the convention, the website stated. To ensure that this is an inclusive conversation, delegates will be anyone from each local Occupation who wants to join us, as well as members of the general public who wish to attend.
The Occupy groups so far represented in this convention: Orlando, Bradenton, Tampa, Key West, Sarasota, St. Petersburg, Miami, Daytona, Naples, Tallahassee, Palm Beach, St. Augustine, the Space Coast and Jacksonville.
