Obama's Latino Adviser Raising Money for Charlie Crist in Miami

A member of President Barack Obama's national 2008 finance committee and a top adviser on Latino outreach is planning a fund-raiser for Charlie Crist that will consist largely of Obama supporters, the Wall Street Journal reports.

Alfredo Balsera is now advising Crist, and he has informed the White House, the Journal story stated today.

The Journal also reported that Crist has retained a political consulting firm that counts Anita Dunn as a partner. Dunn was the White House communications director until November.

Dunn told the Journal she was not directly working on the Crist campaign herself but had stopped advising the Democratic Party to avoid a conflict of interest.
