Obama's Energy Department 'Insider Deals'

A new Republican National Committee infographic, based on an analysis by The Washington Post this week, shows a web of Obama "insiders" in the Department of Energy who are tied to clean-energy companies that received billions in federal dollars.

The Post revealed nearly $4 billion had been awarded to 21 companies that all can be connected to a mere five staffers/advisers in the administration. In one instance, the former firm of Sanjay Wagle, a clean-tech venture capitalist who joined the Energy Department right after Obama moved into the White House, received a stunning $2.4 billion from the Energy Department in the three years following Wagle's move.

Among the companies included in the Post's analysis is Solyndra, the Silicon Valley solar company that dominated headlines after receiving more than half a billion dollars in federal grants before it shuttered.
