Obama Nominates Marsh As U.S. Attorney For Northern District Of Florida
Pamela Cothran Marsh has been nominated by President Barack Obama to be the new U.S. attorney for the Northern District of Florida, replacing Thomas Kirwin.
Marsh is currently Of Counsel for Akerman Senterfit, a national law firm with 15 offices, including seven in Florida.
From 1999 to 2006, Marsh served as an assistant U.S. attorney in the Tampa Division for the Middle District of Florida. Previously, she was an associate at Annis, Mitchell, Cockey, Edwards & Rohen.
From 1995 until 1996, Marsh was a law clerk to Judge Jane R. Roth of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. From 1994 to 1995, Marsh worked for Jenner & Block.
Marsh graduated from Georgetown University in 1991 and from Georgetown University Law Center in 1995. She was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1995 and resides in Tallahassee.
Marsh, pending confirmation by the U.S. Senate, would succeed Kirwin, whose office recently received a request from Gov. Charlie Crist to investigate allegations of financial improprieties by the Republican Party of Florida.
Per standing policy, Kirwin's staff would neither confirm nor deny that an investigation is under way.
