NYT: Tebow too Popular to Play Quarterback in the NFL?

Possible future Florida politician Tim Tebow, the University of Florida standout who has languished on the sidelines with mega-dysfunctional New York Jets, may not have any options in the NFL.

His hometown Jacksonville Jaguars, often reported as his only option beyond the Jets, are not interested in him after General Manager Dave Caldwell, in being asked to discuss a player under contract with another team, said, "I can't imagine a scenario in which he'll be a Jacksonville Jaguar -- even if he's released."

So where does that leave Tebow? Some NFL limbo-land unless hes willing to change positions, according to New York Times reporter Toni Monkovic.

Blogging on theTimes website, Monkovic wrote any team that would take him on would have to deal with the drama of how much playing time Tebow should receive.

Some of the headaches associated with Tebow are media driven. Last month, ESPNs president acknowledged that the network went overboard with its coverage. But the basic dynamic cant be helped. Tebow is polarizing and popular, and that drives media interest, which drives up the distraction effect.
