Newt Gingrich Stays in Race and Pushes on to Wisconsin
After his poor showing on Saturday in the Louisiana primary, Republican presidential hopeful Newt Gingrich is looking to get back on track in Wisconsin.
Gingrich is going all out in the Badger State which holds its primary next Tuesday -- the same day as Maryland and the District of Columbia. Callista Gingrich is hitting Hudson and Eau Clare on Monday while the candidate himself makes a blitz of national media appearances and campaigns in Delaware.
While his wife has seven more events in the Badger State later this week, the candidate himself wont hit Wisconsin until Thursday night with a scheduled rally in Milwaukee. The Gingrich campaign is scheduling events in Green Bay and Waukesha later in the week with the candidate speaking.
While Gingrich cannot be happy with taking 16 percent for a distant third in Louisiana -- his only two primary wins, after all, came in Southern states -- it does not appear he is ready to pull out of the race quite yet.
