Newt Gingrich Slams Barack Obama and Mitt Romney on Health Care

After losing Florida to Mitt Romney on Tuesday, Republican presidential hopeful Newt Gingrich came out swinging on Thursday, comparing his GOP rivals stance on health care to that of President Barack Obama.

The most important issue facing Republican voters in 2012 should be repealing the disastrous policy known as Obamacare. This policy isn't scheduled to be fully implemented until 2014, and once an onerous entitlement is established, it becomes near impossible to repeal, wrote Michael Krull, Gingrichs campaign manager, in an email to supporters sent out Thursday.

Krull then went on the attack against Romney.

Mitt Romney says he will work to repeal Obamacare, but his history should give all conservatives pause, Krull continued. As governor of Massachusetts, Mitt Romney laid the foundation for Obamacare with his version of big-government health-care legislation now known as Romneycare. Romney is a known panderer, willing to switch his positions to remain popular, and the fight to repeal Obamacare is going to be vicious. Will Mitt Romney have the courage to keep fighting for repeal when the onslaught from liberals begins?

Newt Gingrich is the only candidate who has the experience and fortitude to repeal Obamacare, Krull insisted. Speaker Gingrich has shown a lifelong commitment to advancing the conservative movement and as a historian he understands just how critical it is to repeal Obamneycare now!

Its an interesting tactic -- and one that yet another GOP presidential hopeful -- Rick Santorum -- used to score points in a debate in Jacksonville last week. Look for more of this line of attack from Gingrich in the weeks to come.
