New Q Poll: Sink 44, Scott 43, Rubio Crushing the Field

Quinnipiac University released a poll on Monday and, like the poll Sunshine State News released, it shows Democratic candidate Alex Sink leading by the skin of her teeth in the gubernatorial race while Republican Marco Rubio was crushing the field in the U.S. Senate race.

The poll of likely voters had state CFO Sink taking 44 percent with Republican businessman Rick Scott at 43 percent.

Rubio took 45 percent--far ahead of Gov. Charlie Crist, who is running with no party affiliation, at 31 percent and Democratic nominee U.S Rep. Kendrick Meek at 18 percent.

"Marco Rubio is comfortably ahead in the race to be Florida's next U.S. senator, said Peter Brown, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute. But the governor's race is a different story. It is a dead heat and either candidate could be the state's next governor.

"In the governor's race, the victor will be whoever wins a majority of the 9 percent of likely voters who remain undecided at this late date," added Brown.

The poll of 925 likely voters was taken between October 25 - 31 and had a margin of error of +/- 3.2 percentage points.
