New Lobbying Office in Jacksonville Led by Susie Wiles and ...Tony Boselli?

Just in time for what should be an interesting mayoral election in the Bold New City of the South, powerhouse lobbying firm Smith & Ballard opened up an office in Jacksonville to be led by two prominent figures -- veteran Republican strategist Susie Wiles and Jacksonville Jaguar legend Tony Boselli.

Having just signed up for the fledgling efforts of possible Republican presidential candidate Jon Huntsman, Wiles --who has worked in Jacksonville mayoral elections as well as for Rick Scott --will still keep an office in Tallahassee. Boselli, a Pro Bowl offensive linemen when he played with the Jags, has been very active in community affairs on the First Coast and has even generated buzz as a possible mayoral candidate down the road.

To be able to add two individuals with this level of talent, expertise and knowledge of the Jacksonville and greater-Florida landscape is a bold step forward for our firm, said Brian Ballard, who is the managing partner of the organization. Susie and Tony will be decisive ambassadors for our firm as they drive the upward development of the Jacksonville office.

Boselli seems to be everywhere in Jacksonville these days -- from morning sports-talk radio (where he used to be full-time on 1010XL with Dan Hicken and Jeff Prosser) to leading "Team Teal" ticket efforts for the Jags.

Of course, with the way that David Garrard and Maurice Jones-Drew went down at the end of the season costing the Jags, yet again, a trip to the playoffs, I think I would rather still have Big Bo on the field. He's only 38 and frankly could teach a few things to Eugene Monroe and Eben Britton.
