New Inspector General Headed to SBA

Ash Williams, executive director and chief investment officer of the Florida State Board of Administration (SBA) announced on Tuesday that Melinda Miguel, currently chief inspector general in the governors office, will be serving as inspector general of the SBA starting Nov. 8.

I am excited to bring Melinda to the State Board of Administration with her extensive professional experience relevant to the SBA, in addition to her direct knowledge of the SBA from her participation on the boards audit committee, said Williams.It is our job and commitment to provide superior investment and trust services while adhering to the highest ethical, fiduciary and professional standards, and I am positive Melinda will continue to enhance those efforts.

The SBA has strong ethics and disclosure policies, which have been broadened and strengthened in recent years, and I am eager to lend my experience to assuring SBA participants and the citizens of Florida that the SBA continues operating in the taxpayers best interest, said Miguel.

Miguel replaces Bruce Meeks who is retiring after working for the state for 30 years.
