National Business Federation Hails House Repeal of Obamacare

The National Federation of Independent Business -- a leader in the legal fight to nullify Obamacare -- hailed the U.S. House vote to repeal the law.

I cant think of a better way to kick off the new Congress," said NFIB President and CEO Dan Danner.

The health-care law didnt help the small-business community with the cost of health care, which has always been our No. 1 concern. If anything, the law does the opposite -- increasing costs and burdens on the group that needs meaningful reform most.

We hope the Senate follows suit with a repeal vote and that both chambers of Congress look at reforms that would reduce health-care costs for Americas job creators and their employees.

With Senate President Harry Reid saying he won't even bring the House repeal bill up for a vote in his Democratically controlled chamber, NFIB, along with Florida and two-dozen other states, is also challenging Obamacare in the courts.

A federal judge in Virginiahas already ruled unconstitutional the law's individual mandate requiring the purchase of health insurance. A similar case is pending in Florida, and the issue -- whatever Congress does or does not do -- is expected to wind up in the U.S. Supreme Court.
