Nassau County Lands Aerospace Manufacturing Firm

An aerospace manufacturing company, Brunswick, Ga.-based ALM Technologies Inc., is relocating to Yulee in Nassau County, adding 30 new positions in the next three years, the governors office announced.

We welcome ALM Technologies to Florida and look forward to its contributions to our aerospace and manufacturing sectors, which are vital to our states economic growth and job creation, Gov. Rick Scott stated in a release.

ALM Technologies, formed in June 2011 to acquire select assets of the 15-year-old Definitive Design Inc., provides products for major aerospace suppliers in support of commercial and defense contracts.

With jobs that include skilled machinists, engineers and support personnel, the average salary is projected to be $41,267 --137 percent above the average in Nassau County. The company will also be buying and building in the county, the release stated.

Nassau County and the economic development board provided exactly what we were looking for in our location search -- a focused, detail-oriented and quick approach the entire way, Michael J. Piscatella, ALM president, stated in a release.

While the growth we expect may be inconsistent with the current economic conditions, the forecast for the aerospace industry is in the early stages of a strong upswing.We trust that Definitive Designs can and will bring positive growth to Nassau County.

Steve Rieck, executive director of the Nassau County Economic Development Board, called the company a big win for the county.

Entrepreneurs are the growth drivers in this economy and that is what Definitive Designs will bring to our county positive growth, Rieck stated in the release.
