Nan Rich: 'I Will Be in this Race Until the End'
Down in the polls, former Florida Senate Minority Leader Nan Rich continues to insist she will stay in the Democratic gubernatorial primary against former Gov. Charlie Crist. Rich continues to demand -- and be denied -- a debate with Crist, who had spent most of his political life as a Republican.
Opening a campaign office in her home turf in Weston and joining the Plantation Democratic Club in an event honoring U.S. Rep. Alcee Hastings, D-Fla., over the weekend, Rich says she has no intention of bowing out even as Crist gets the backing of the Democratic leadership, including winning the endorsement of the Florida Education Association (FEA) over the weekend.
I am running for governor, Rich insisted on Saturday. And I will be in this race, in case anybody had any doubts, I will be in this race until the end. And the end to me is to be elected governor of the state of Florida.
