Nan Rich Hasn't Been Offered -- and Doesn't Want -- a Deal to Quit the Governor's Race
Democrat Nan Rich says no, the Charlie Crist people haven't approached her to give up her run for governor in exchange for an appointment to head the Department of Children and Families -- and if they do, that's not what she wants.
"I'm running for governor," the former Senate minority leader from Weston told me Friday while on her way to Gainesville. "I've had the suggestion made to me that I would make a good DCF director, but I've not had any offers and don't want one. This grassroots campaign (for governor) is gaining some momentum. I'm still doing what I do, getting out, meeting people, listening to their concerns about Florida, and boy, do they have concerns."
Rich said she is squashing any talk of a deal between herself and the Democratic Party or the Crist camp.
