Mr. Vice President: Learn What 'Audacious' Means

We all know the old saying about a "gaffe" being when a politician tells the truth.

And we all know Joe Biden is "gaffe-prone."

The problem is, when our vice president tells what he thinks is the truth, he's generally wrong.

Take his statement at a fundraiser Monday that the Navy Seals raid that killed Osama bin Laden was the most "audacious" military operation in 500 years. Politico has some fun with it, listing 10 military operations it cheekily describes as "arguably at least as 'audacious' and some perhaps more so" -- D-Day, for instance, and Napoleon invading Russia (not so successful, but "audacious" nonetheless).

It's an interesting read. I'd have argued for Washington crossing the Delaware and Doolittle's raid on Tokyo, but that's just me.

(Agincourt, unfortunately, is outside the time frame.)

Anybody have more ideas?
