The Morning After: 'No Labels' Group Still Drunk On Shaky Budget Bridge

Affirming their status as a herd of captive RINOs and closet Democrats, the "No Labels" crowd is oddly excited over the temporary budget agreement reached by Congress late Friday.

On behalf of our more than 80,000 citizen leaders, No Labels applauds President Obama and congressional leadership for working across the aisle to reach a bipartisan solution to fund the federal government for the remainder of the year," effused co-founder Mark McKinnon and founding leader David Walker.

McKinnon added: "Despite the many weeks it took to reach consensus, our nations leaders deserve credit for finally choosing progress over politics. Avoiding a government shutdown was the right thing to do for our economy and for the American people."

McKinnon reported Saturday that "tens of thousands" of No Labels members had contacted Congress,"urging them to change the tone of these contentious debates and find a way to work together to address this issue.

Walker, a former U.S. comptroller general under George W. Bush, joined McKinnon, a Democrat, in calling Friday's piddling $39 million budget cut a "milestone."

With the federal deficit and debt rising billions by the day, the giddy No Labels folks seem desperate for good news. Overly so.
