Mitt Romney's Team Hits Newt Gingrich on Freddie Mac

With Newt Gingrichs big win in South Carolina, the team behind Republican presidential primary rival Mitt Romney is taking aim at the former congressional leader. As the race heads to Florida, the Romney camp slammed Gingrich for his work in the Beltway after leaving Congress.

Newt Gingrich says he was not a lobbyist -- he was just a politician who was paid millions after he left Congress to influence his friends in Washington, Gail Gitcho, Romneys communications director, said in a statement on Monday. When it comes to his work for Freddie Mac, we still have more questions than answers. Speaker Gingrich should immediately make his Freddie Mac contract and work product available to the public.
