Mitt Romney's the Heavy Favorite, Just Look at the Total Votes

Mitt Romney had a close call on Tuesday, but he held on to beat Rick Santorum in the Michigan presidential primary and blew out the field in Arizona --a state that Democrats would love to pick up in November. While Romney may have some rough days to come in the next week -- some of the Super Tuesday states will probably go for Santorum and Newt Gingrich is running ahead in the polls in his home state of Georgia -- he remains the front-runner for the Republican presidential nomination for a reason.

Looking at a chart from Real Clear Politics, Romney has easily bested the other candidates in the total number of votes taken with almost 1.75 million. Gingrich places second with little more than 978,000 and Santorum has won 932,000 votes. Ron Paul has less than 463,000 votes.

Its an impressive total -- and one to keep in mind even as Romney, who also leads the delegate count, could suffer some losses this week.
