Mitt Romney Speaking at CPAC Florida Event in September

While former Gov. Mitt Romney of Massachusetts, the favorite for the Republican presidential nomination, will not take part in the Presidency 5 straw poll being hosted by the Republican Party of Florida (RPOF) in September, he will be speaking to the Conservative Political Action Conferences (CPAC) meeting in Florida at the same time.

Reaching out to states around the country, as well as holding its yearly CPAC meeting in Washington, the American Conservative Union (ACU), which runs the conference, announced last month that CPAC FL would be held in Orlando -- its first regional meeting outside the Beltway.

The CPAC FL event is being held in the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando on Friday, Sept. 23 -- the same date that the RPOF will be holding its Presidency 5 event. Other invited speakers include two prominent Florida Republicans -- U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio and U.S. Rep. Allen West.

Governor Romney is a tested, conservative leader who continues to offer thoughtful, substantive free-market solutions in the wake of the disastrous economic agenda advanced by President Obama, said Al Cardenas, chairman of the ACU and former RPOF chairman. We look forward to welcoming him to CPAC FL in the Sunshine State this fall, as we expand the CPAC brand and further energize the national conservative movement.
