Mitt Romney Seen as Clear Favorite for the GOP Nomination
Its Super Tuesday and the wind is behind Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romneys back.
A Rasmussen Reports poll unveiled on Tuesday shows that an overwhelming majority -- 65 percent -- of likely voters think that Romney is going to win the Republican nomination. Before his wins in the Arizona and Michigan primaries last week, 54 percent of those surveyed thought Romney would be the nominee. Last week, 24 percent thought Rick Santorum would be the nominee. The new poll shows only 14 percent think Santorum will emerge to take on Democrat incumbent President Barack Obama in November. The other candidates do even worse -- 5 percent think Newt Gingrich will be the nominee, 4 percent think it will be Ron Paul and 3 percent think it will be a different candidate.
The poll of 1,000 likely voters was taken from March 3-4 and had a margin of error of +/- 3 percent.
