Mitt Romney Crushing the Field in New Florida Poll
A new CNN/Time poll unveiled on Wednesday afternoon finds former Gov. Mitt Romney well on his way to winning the Florida Republican presidential primary Jan. 31.
Romney takes 43 percent of the poll of likely voters, followed by former U.S. Sen. Rick Santorum of Pennsylvania in second with 19 percent and former U.S. House Speaker Newt Gingrich in third with 18 percent. U.S. Rep. Ron Paul of Texas takes fourth with 9 percent followed by Texas Gov. Rick Perry with 2 percent. Fifty-three percent of those surveyed say they are definitely sticking with their candidate, while 38 percent are open to backing other GOP hopefuls.
The poll of 391 likely Florida Republican primary voters was taken Jan. 13-17 and had a margin of error of +/- 5 percent.
