Mitt Romney Beating Rick Santorum in Poll of Maryland
Maryland -- along with the District of Columbia and Wisconsin -- holds its Republican presidential primary on Tuesday and all signs indicate that Mitt Romney will take most of the 37 delegates that the Old State Line will be sending to the Republican convention in Tampa come August.
According to a poll from Rasmussen Reports released on Thursday, Romney appears poised to win in Maryland. Romney takes 45 percent of the poll of likely Republican primary voters while Rick Santorum, from neighboring Pennsylvania, places a distant second with 28 percent. Newt Gingrich takes third with 12 percent while Ron Paul garners 7 percent. While 6 percent remain undecided on who they will back, 2 percent say they will support other candidates come Tuesday.
The poll of 750 likely Republican primary voters was taken on March 28 and had a margin of error of +/- 4 percent.
