Mike Huckabee Goes to Bat for Dan Webster

While Democrats plan to target U.S. Rep. Dan Webster, R-Fla., in November, the freshman congressman can count on the support of an old ally -- former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, best known for his bid for the GOP presidential nomination in 2008 and for his various media appearances, including a show on Fox News and a national radio show set to be launched later this year.

From his perch at his PAC, Huckabee sent out an email to supporters on Tuesday, insisting that Democrats are targeting Webster and other Republicans in Congress and across the nation.

Published reports indicate Emilys List and NARAL are raising record amounts of money for pro-abortion candidates across the country, Huckabee wrote. They are targeting many staunch pro-life advocates such as Governor Scott Walker in Wisconsin and Congressman Daniel Webster, a 2010 Huck PAC-endorsed candidate in Florida. And in the fight for the Senate they are lining up against our Huck PAC-endorsed candidates Gary Glenn in Michigan and Todd Akin in Missouri.

In these two fights in particular, their massive financial support for Democrat, pro-abortion incumbents Debbie Stabenow and Claire McCaskill could prevent Republicans from regaining the Senate majority," Huckabee added. And without a Republican Senate majority, we can expect more big government, higher taxes and less freedom.

Democrats have high hopes for Val Demings, their candidate to take on Webster in November. But its clear that Webster can count on Huckabees support.
