Mike Haridopolos Sounds Off on Jim Greer: I Hardly Knew Him
Speaking of the unfolding Jim Greer case, Senate President-designate Mike Haridopolos says it's no mystery why his name hasn't appeared on any witness lists.
Bemused by Greer's pejorative portrayal of "The Four Horsemen" -- Haridopolos, House Speaker-designate Dean Cannon, Attorney General Bill McCollum and state GOP Chairman John Thrasher -- the lawmaker mused about the ousted party boss:
"Explain this to me: I knew all about (Greer's allegedly felonious financial side deals), but his best friend, Charlie Crist, didn't? These two guys were flying all over the place together.
"As soon as I heard about (Greer's Victory Strategies LLC deal), he was gone," Haridopolos said Thursday on the sidelines at the Florida Energy Summit in Orlando.
Of course, the fact that Haridopolos and his fellow "horsemen" dropped Crist like a hot potato when the governor quit the GOP hasn't exactly endeared them to the governor and Mr. Greer.
Crist is named 62 times in the state's investigative report and could be called as a witness for both the prosecution and the defense.
